Parvathy Thiruvothu, born on April 7, 1988, in Kozhikode, Kerala, is a distinguished Indian actress renowned for her work in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. She is the daughter of lawyers P. Vinod Kumar and T. K. Usha Kumari, and has a brother named Aum Thiruvothu Karunakaran. During her schooling years, her family relocated to Thiruvananthapuram, where she completed her education at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pangode, and later earned a B.A. in English Literature from All Saints College. Parvathy is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer.
She began her acting career with the Malayalam film “Out of Syllabus” in 2006 and gained critical acclaim for her role in the Tamil romantic drama “Poo” (2008). Parvathy’s notable performances include roles in “Bangalore Days” (2014), “Ennu Ninte Moideen” (2015), “Charlie” (2015), “Take Off” (2017), “Uyare” (2019), and “Virus” (2019). Her portrayal of Sameera in “Take Off” earned her the National Film Award – Special Mention, making her the first Indian actor to receive the Silver Peacock award for Best Female Actor at the International Film Festival of India.
