Dimple Yadav is an Indian politician who is the wife of former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. She was born on 15 January 1978 in Pune, Maharashtra, she was elected as a member of the Lok Sabha in the year 2022. Dimple Yadav is originally from Uttarakhand. Dimple Yadav received her education from Pune, Bathinda and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Army Public School, Nehru Road, Lucknow.
Dimple Yadav started her political career in the year 2009. In 2009, Dimple Yadav contested the by-election from Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency but she had to face defeat. During the Lok Sabha by-election in 2012, Dimple Yadav was elected MP from Kannauj constituency and being the only unopposed woman from Kannauj constituency of Uttar Pradesh, she won the by-election. After winning for the first time, Dimple Yadav again contested from Kannauj seat in 2014 and won for the second time as well. In the year 2019, she contested from BSP and SP Mahagathbandhan but this time she could not win the election. After the death of Mulayam Singh in 2022, she was elected MP from Mainpuri. Let us tell you that in the year 2024, Dimple Yadav contested from Mainpuri seat on behalf of Samajwadi Party and won.
Dimple Yadav met Akhilesh Yadav as a friend but later both of them started liking each other and in the year 1999 both the couples got married. These two couples have three children.
