Rishi’s parents did not want Rishi to make his career in music. They wanted Rishi to study and get a good job but Rishi’s interest was only in music. In 2019, Rishi auditioned for Indian Idol season 11 but was eliminated in the fourth round of auditions. After this, in June 2019, Rishi performed at the annual music concert at the Ram Katha Museum in Ayodhya.
