He frequently incorporates Haryanvi and Marwari dialects into his performances, focusing on relatable themes such as family life, marriage and politics. His iconic refrain, “Chaar lainaa suna ryo hoon,” became a hallmark of his poetry. Surender Sharma is known for his poker-faced humour and often narrates witty anecdotes about his wife, earning him the title of a pioneer in Hasya Ras (comic poetry) in Hindi literature.
